General Statement

“Among the many signs and symbols used by the Church to celebrate its faith, music is of preeminent importance,” (Music in Catholic Worship). We believe that liturgical music gives our community a sense of unity and allows it to express its faith throughout the different liturgical seasons of the year. The music chosen in our parish represents a variety of styles, cultures, and historical periods. We are always looking for individuals willing to share their talents and time as cantors, choir member or instrumentalists.

Adults Choir

The Adult Choir sings at the 10:30AM Sunday Liturgy. Practices are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:45PM until 9:15PM. All that is required to join the choir is a desire to sing; musical training is provided during rehearsals.

Women’s Choir

The Women’s Choir sings every other Saturday at the 5:00PM evening Mass. They rehearse at 4:00PM prior to Mass, and alternate Saturdays with the Youth Choir.

Youth Choir

This group is open to youth in Middle And High Schools. The choir sings every other Saturday at the 5:00PM Mass, and rehearses at 4:00PM prior to Mass. They alternate Saturdays with the Women’s Choir.

Children’s Choir

Any child, grades 3 through 6, is welcome to join the Children’s Choir. They sing at the 9:00AM Mass on Sundays, as well as for special celebrations.

Junior Choir

Children in Kindergarten, 1st , and 2nd grades are invited to join this choir. The choir sings a few times a year at the 9:00AM Sunday Liturgy.

Adult Handbell Choir

The Adult Handbell Choir plays approximately once a month. Practices are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:45PM until 7:45PM. Those interested should be able to read music.

Cantor

Cantors sing the responsorial psalm and lead the assembly in song at Mass. They should be at ease singing in front of and with the assembly.

Instrumentalists

High School students and adults who play brass, string and woodwind instruments are encouraged to volunteer either regularly or for special celebrations.
